Crunchy granola Bar recipe

So happy!!!! I absolutely love crispy crunchy granola bars and have been looking for years for a recipe since we have allergies and can't buy a single brand commercial made. I found a recipe last night, made them, and the kids were crunching their way through breakfast this morning!!!!!!!!! I did not add raisins and used whole wheat flour, but everything else I kept the same. i think next time I will try to reduce the sugar to 1/4 c from 1/2c and add 1/4 c of ground flax seed for some variety. I think these are rather delicious! thought I would share!!!

Playgroup Granola Bars - Allrecipes

INGREDIENTS
2 cups rolled oats
3/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup wheat germ
3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
1 cup all-purpose flour
3/4 cup raisins (optional)
3/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup honey
1 egg, beaten
1/2 cup vegetable oil
2 teaspoons vanilla extract
DIRECTIONS
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Generously grease a 9x13 inch baking pan.
In a large bowl, mix together the oats, brown sugar, wheat germ, cinnamon, flour, raisins and salt. Make a well in the center, and pour in the honey, egg, oil and vanilla. Mix well using your hands. Pat the mixture evenly into the prepared pan.
Bake for 30 to 35 minutes in the preheated oven, until the bars begin to turn golden at the edges. Cool for 5 minutes, then cut into bars while still warm. Do not allow the bars to cool completely before cutting, or they will be to hard to cut.

Ok so I've read the recipe over and over again. I even printed it out. I read the comments and made notes. I can't wait to make these. I don't buy the crunchy ones because they mostly have nuts or I'm not sure what all is put in them. Are these filling?? I'm going to put flaxseed, dried blueberries and applesause in these. Thank you. I have been wanting a recipe for my own bars. I hope they turn out. I will let you know!
