tuna fish...

anyone know about tuna fish and toddlers? my 4 yo ds loves it and now i am starting to wonder how much is "safe" and if a canned salmon may be a better choice. anyone have any thoughts? tia...

I researched this for my pregnancy. Basically to eat it once a week is fine. But only buy the light tuna (NOT albicore, it says "light") and only packed in water.

If she likes to eat a LOT of it, I would see if canned chicken would work better. Salmon is good, and low in murcury, but it is also REALLY spendy.

why is tuna packed in water better than in oil?
we buy the one in olive oil and I havenīt seen any info on it being bad anywhere (other than the mercury, that is)
