Turbinado sugar
Does anyone know if you can use turbinado sugar in place of regular white sugar and get the same outcome? I have a big bag of turbinado and am trying to not use so much white sugar. Right now I'm making Korean style black beans and normally I'd use white sugar, but I wonder if I could use turbinado instead. I'd hate for it to come out weird tasting after it took 2 hours to cook!

I use turbinado for everything. I got rid of white sugar about a year ago. It does have a more distinct taste to it, but it should be just fine!

I would think for something like Korean style black beans that turbinado sugar would be *better*, giving it are more rounded out flavor. How did it go?

I love the stuff. I don't use it in exchange for my processed sugar in baking, but for everything else I tend to like it better.
What did you end up using? How did it end up?

I think the turbinado sugar is going to be just fine. I used it to make the beans but I used too much soy sauce so they didn't turn out very well. lol
I did use the turbinado to make a chocolate cake a few nights ago and it came out soooo good! Not overly sweet.

I use turbinado sugar for everything. We haven't had white sugar in our house in over a year
