Question Got a good recipe for green beans???

Dh and I went to the farmer's market this morning, and got tons of green beans. (Hey, they looked good at the time. LOL)

Sooo, we want some new green bean recipes, as I only have about 3 different ways I make them, and that will get old, quick.

Thanks~

I boil them with a little salt and then add olive oil or butter and tons of garlic and simmer for 3 minutes. Add slivered almonds and serve.

I stick them in a big pot a cover with water.
Then add a bunch of new potatoes halved, a onion cut up, brown sugar, and jowel?? (not sure how to spell that but its a hunk of pig fat LOL).
And let it cook/simmer a few hours... thats how grandma taught me to make them. Its the only way my family eats green beans.

I just chop the ends off and boil them until they're tender-crisp. Then I put a little olive oil in my wok and cook some garlic cloves in it. Add the green beans and some fresh dill and cook a little longer.

Yum!

I also just boil them and top them with small new potatoes - simple and good!

This is my family's favorite recipe with green beans (it works for fresh or canned, btw):

Garden Bean and Onion Salad

salad -
1 lb fresh green beans
1/2 cup finely chopped red onion

dressing -
1/4 cup olive oil
1 T balsamic vinegar
1 t sugar
2 t mustard
1/2 t salt
1/4 - 1/2 t pepper (according to your tastebuds)

Place beans in 2-quart microwave-safe bowl. Add 1/2 cup water; cover and cook on high for 10-12 minutes or until crisp-tender. Drain and rinse with cold water to cool. (If using canned green beans, omit previous steps.)

Meanwhile, in large bowl, combine all dressing ingredients and blend well. Add beans and onions, toss to coat. Regrigerate about an hour before serving (allows flavors to blend nicely).

Steam them and then add lots of garlic and real butter. Salt if you want....
Also, cut them into 1/4 and then make a green bean casserole (cream of mush. soup, toasted onions...CHEESE)
Enjoy!

Microwave for about 4 minutes. Toss with salt, vegetable oil, rice vinegar, a few drops of roasted sesame seed oil and top with toasted sesame seeds.

I've also done this with italian style dressing and chopped red bell pepper. Yummy!

Do you have apressure cooker?
I cook mine in the pressure cooker and add new potatoes (those tiny red ones) and smoked pork chops(these taste very similar to ham)
Also some salt and pepper.
The whole dinner is cooked in one pot, so easy and fast!
Of course with so many people in may family we have to make 3 pots full but still fast and easy!
Or if you don't have a pressure cooker I have made the same dinner using an oven roasting bag, like for pot roast. Just throw everything in the bag and cook in the oven until everything is tender.
