Question Kids and organic foods

I'm trying to get my 6 yo to drink the soy milk instead of the regular milk and other organic things. I'm having a very difficult time even though I am doing these things she refuses them I've tried everything I could and nothing there is not one item that she likes.

It doesn't help that she eats junk at her dad's but how can I get her to eat what I eat and with me when she's with me. (BTW we share custody so it's hard to change my household if he's unwilling to change his).

Any and all ideas are welcome.

I'm bumping this for you girl. Sometimes it takes awhile to get people to respond. Hopefully someone will though because I know how much this means to you.

One thing I did when we did the switch over was to mix 50% organic milk with 50% chocolate Silk brand soy milk and then slowly but surely do the complete change over.

Also, my husband does not like the plain soy milks...as they are even sweetened. He does like and drinks regularly the unsweetened plain Silk brand soy milk. HTH

I was also going to suggest the same thing as Sarah. When dh and I first quit drinking cow's milk, I would use about 1/4 soy and the rest regular. I doubt your dd would even notice that she was drinking soy milk. Over time I used more and more soy, and now I really *don't* like cow's milk. It tastes sour to me now. I like Silk and Vitasoy the best. Certain brands taste better than others.

Good luck to you!

We do not like soy milk at all. We use almond milk. I can't tell the difference in cereal. Now, I do not like cows milk either.

Basically, with everything else, you eat what you are given. I started with their favorites though -- strawberries, raisins, peanuts, fruit leather, cereal. Nature's Path makes some rocking organic cereals. Oh, juices too. We never did soda with the kids so that was a non-issue.

I feel for you. I am trying to get my oldest dairy free. Ugh! I will try mixing the milks. It will be easy right now. I got a good deal on milk a while back and froze it in mason jars. I can thaw out one jar and mix 1/2 with almond for a while. Then start cutting back the milk.
