WAHM - Work at Home Momsall the ins and outs of being a Work At Home Mom, how to get popcorn out of your keyboard/printer, and when not to send that invoice with the scribble.
I work part-time as a Technical Editor/Writer for a church organization. It's great...everything is emailed back and forth, some phone time, and once-a-year face-to-face staff meeting!
I'm around Currently I am working in a bunch of different jobs
AmityMama.com
Labor Doula- I'm still in the certification process, but I am officially working now.
Teaching- I am teaching sewing at a fabric shop one day a month for now and a homeschool class for 6-10's once per week
I like that all of them are flexible, but obviously the doula part has to be prioritized for time-sensitive meetings, appointments and of course births! The teaching is something I didn't know I would like but it turns out I really do. And this place, well, I still need B for the technical stuff but I'm learning more every month.
So, I posted this and then got pretty busy and never got back to post mine!
I'm glad I have company.
I was doing some out of the home work/travel for my PT job but just resigned my position and am relieved to be working completely from home now. I do a variety of freelance writing work from magazines to work for hire. It keeps me employed FT, which is a good thing.
I'm still crafting and selling on line. I'm still humbled after all these years by my customers.
CPSIA is a threat of course but the kits that were a back-burner project last year are being moved to the front. I already did testing on my "technical" writing and thrilled that there was 100% success on the first go 'round.

Since my DH started working solo, I'm doing a lot of stuff for his business. Mostly administrative stuff, but some writing as well. I'll eventually move to the office on occasion, likely bringing the kids with us, so I can do some paralegal work when the times comes. But, for now I can manage doing it from here.
I'm also writing again. It took me a long time to come back to it and I'm kind of re-learning the trade - throwing out my inhibitions and seeing where it takes me.
