WAHM chatall the ins and outs of being a Work At Home Mom, how to get popcorn out of your keyboard/printer, and when not to send that invoice with the scribble.
Please help, I’m not sure what to do about this one. I don’t feel comfortable with this whole transaction. Can I flat out deny selling him these? The thing that bothers me most is that I get a LOT of spam from Nigeria, and got a separate spam email on the same day this guy wrote me from the same location (Lagos Nigeria).
Here is our communication to date.
---------------
His original email to me:
ANA COMPLIMENT.
okay thanks for your reply .
Now i want you to give me the total cost plus the shipping cost to lagos nigeria via DHL 2/3 days delivery so that i can send you the cheques, money orders, and also your mailing address where the check will be sent to so that i can make the preparation for your payment ASAP.
BEST REGARDS .

My response:
Dear X,
Thank you kindly for your interest in my products. However, I do not mass produce. I only have ONE of each of those necklaces, they are one-of-a-kind handmade originals. I also only take cheques, money orders, or paypal.

My response:
Hi again X,
I wonder if you understood my original email. I only have ONE of each necklace in stock. Do you want to order only 4 necklaces total then?
Thank you,
Ana
His most recent response:

What do I do? What would you do? I haven’t had a lot of luck lately with packages arriving to their destination out-of-country, even just to the states (I guess they’ve been lost in the holiday rush or something), and have had to refund a lot of money. I just have an icky feeling about this one, and I'm not sure if I can just deny the sale or what. So I don’t know where to go with this one. Please help!
Ana I'm am almost positive this is a scam
Some women I know from a quiltpattern designers group I belong to got a very similar e-mail, and it was a scam
I can't remember how it works but it is something about asking for a lot of stuff paying by credit card, and then refusing the transaction later. I'm not really sure but I agree with the PP I would say no deal, and block his e-mail.
good luck mama

Thanks everyone The reason I replied to it is because it wasn't an email that arrived in my inbox, it came through a form on my website. So whoever this was took the time to search my site for the contact form, then went ahead and messaged me that way. I immediately delete these sort of things that come straight into my inbox!
Anyway, to update, I just wrote him back and said after some consideration, I will not be able to go through with the transaction. I haven't heard from him since, and I hope that's the end of that!
It is one of the warning signs of CC fraud. Something about them getting the product before the CC has a chance to be reported as stolen and the shipment reversed.
