blank handwriting practice sheets with lines to print out

Hi all,

If you're looking for blank handwriting practice sheets with lines to print out, I found a website:

http://penmanship.donnayoung.org/paper.htm

this link will take you to the same size and format of the Enki black line masters:

Hi all,
Thanks for sharing the link.
Just wanted to share that I believe that Vimala has strong reasons for not using lines. She'll explain it more in her new manual (which I get to review this week!)

I had struggled with this since Sage craves to be "correct" and since switching over to having no lines available anywhere in the house her writing is improving with no input from me whatsoever. I was surprised to say the least!

That's so neat Jo -
Here's a summary of what I got from Vimala:

She doesn't recommend using lines at any age. "Lines are restrictive and inhibit the creative mind. Because we adults are so accustomed to using them, we assume children need them. They don't. To use them creates "in the box" thinking and tends to suffocate originality. I have taught four-year-olds to write using unlined paper, and they did beautifully, just beautifully."

She offers the option, if you are concerned with lines, to:

"Fold the children's writing paper in half, so the crease appears in the middle of the page, then smooth it out before writing practice. In that way the writer has three "lines" to follow: the top of the paper, the bottom of the paper, and the almost-invisible horizontal crease across the middle of the paper. *To draw a line across the paper is a harsh reprimand*; the fold line is a gentle reminder."

She also suggests being aware ourselves when we practice: how does it feel to write unlined paper and how does it feel to write on lined.

Hope this helps,

Deborah.

I have read Your Handwriting Can Change Your Life. What else is currently available/do you recommend? Is the teacher's manual available? What does it cover?

Where to start

Natalie,
I would recommend several things:
1) Starting practicing with your own handwriting changes
2) Show your child(ren) their names in the Vimala Font. I own her computer font and am willing to create a pdf file for folks using her book. Send me a private message with your full names and email and I will email you it.
3) As you are able, start modeling the handwriting in everything you do with your children.
4) Practice writing your names together.

Vimala is in the middle of creating a new manual for us so I would not recommend buying the old one. Depending on your resources, I would recommend the font so you can print out anything in the font. It's great. Others reallly like the alphabet cards she sells. I plan on buying them this week.

Hope this helps.

There will be practice sheets. I don't know if she will offer a bundled package of the alpahbet cards, font and manual or just sell each separately. I don't know price either. Sorry ... I can ask.
