hatching egg Who Dehydrates?

I just got an Excalibur 9 Tray Dehydrator. I was hoping it came with a recipe book but doesn't. What do you dehydrate and how? I'm wanting to start with things like bananas, apples, strawberries, and fruit leather.
Thanks for your input and recipes.

I like to make flax crackers, myself

Thanks for the site. Do you have Alissa Cohen's book? I should probably get it. Fruit leather is going to be top on my list. I have a 5 year old. And love it myself.

Not sure about dehydrating frozen cherries. Frozen fruits always seem to have a high water content. So they may take a long time.
I plan on doing fresh cherries when they come ripe in July.

Please keep the ideas coming.

I use my dehydrator to make (flax) crackers mainly.

The recipe is in my BFFs cookbook.

I would share the recipe, but don't want her to sue my a$$.

I also use mine to incubate yogurt and raise bread dough in. Super versatile.

What about spoilage?

A concern I have is how do I know if it's dehydrated enough to store? I'm worried about spoilage. Things like fruit rolls, banana chips, tomatoes, asparagus, blueberries...things like that for more long term storage. Not so concerned with crackers, bread, immediate consumption things.
I was worried when I started growing sprouts too. But have had super-success with that. So I'm sure this will go fine too. Thanks!

teeth Love these Flax Crackers!

Last night did Flax Crackers, Lemon Cookies, and Banana Slices.
All turned out good. I really like the crackers. I shared them with a couple friends today too and they liked them.
I'm excited about doing up more things tomorrow. I think I'll puree banans. I've been waiting for them to ripen. And a cracker bread recipe I found.
Have a great night everyone!
