IMO......veganism is not only about "diet". It is a life choice. To tread on this earth as lightly as possible, harming as little as possible. To use/consume
no animal products. As mentioned above; leather, wool and silk are things that most vegans will not purchase.
Pangea has a wonderful selection of vegan products, both food products and non-food products. I highly recommend the vegan sweets donuts.....they ROCK!
I have never heard of a vegan who eats eggs of any kind. I suppose if I knew of source of a completely humane egg production, that would be acceptable (although, I personally never did care for eggs)
Why are you a vegan? I went from ovo/lacto vegetarian to strict vegetarian and then to veganism. It was a natural progression for me. The more I read and learned, the more I felt it was the right thing for me to do. That said, I do not live in a vegan household. Dh and ds are both non-vegan. I feel it is a choice that
I have made for myself and one I will leave up to James to make on his own. He is mostly vegetarian. Dh is a full blown omni.
Are cows and chickens really treated creuly when we raise them to give us milk and eggs? YES
If I were to become vegan what all would I have to stop eating? Milk and Dairy, eggs, honey, ....what else??? Any animal product....including milk, dairy, eggs and most vegans choose to eliminate honey. Also, if you don't already, sugar that is processed through bone char.
