eyes health and vegetarianism questions

Whenever I go veggie I get incredibly bad leg craps and foot cramps. What am I missing in my diet to make this happen? What veggie foods do I need to add?

Might be either a lack of potassium (kiwi, bananas) or a need for more calcium.

I would say calcium for leg cramps. I really believe we need 50-80 grams of protein per day. Even Joel Fuhrman recommends that. You can get that from veggies/nuts/beans alone but it's hard. Most vegs end up consuming lots of soy to make up for the meat and dairy.

For me it's potassium. Most people have a hard time getting the USRDA of potassium and when you limit your diet it can be even harder. Of course, beer is high in potassium so I guess that's another reason to enjoy a cold one at the end of a long day, lol.

I agree with both...I had issues, even eating meat, til I added in more calcium and potassium and even magnesium. I started eating a banana a day, and drinking organic fortified soy milk (has more calcium than my kids organic milk) and calcium fortified orange juice.....and started taking a magnesium supplement. I had this problem when I ate meat though too, it seemed to appear when I quit drinking milk. I also know people who swear by organic or reg. yogurt daily for their calcium. If you do dairy....(o:
