Question Recommendation for a good vegetarian Indian cookbook?

I'm looking for a cookbook that goes over the Indian basics. Vegetarian preferably.

What's "the classic" cookbook for this?

Sorry this is so late.

Anything by Madhur Jaffrey.
"A Taste of India" would be a good intro book, but she's written many.

Thanks so much! Happily, my library has a copy. I am going to pick it up tomorrow.

YUMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thank you so much.

We got Taste of India out of the library and my husband fell in love. We had chicken tikka tonight with Tilda basmati. He is inspired to try a veggie dish tomorrow. He wants to own a copy of this book. He is totally inspired to cook more Indian dishes and so am I!

We love the spices, so do our kids, and it is naturally low in wheat and dairy, so it is perfect for adapting to a gluten, casein free diet and a mostly veggie one, too.

I am putting her other cookbooks on hold, too! I am in heaven!
