Friday is the Piece de' Resistance for me!

Of all the great shows I have been going to in the past weeks with my buddy Tina - Friday night is the one we have been dreaming of most...

THE PIXIES!!! I am so excited I can hardly stand it! This is our last scheduled "event" together before we move. Tina and I are looooong time friends back when my oldest dd's were babies. She is my sister. Besides loving our lives as mamas we share the love of music. We have been to some awsome shows over the years, and it is with her connections that I got my picture in the Rolling Stone with Kim Gordon (sonic youth) and Perry Ferrell (Jane's Addiction, Porno For Pyros). We had all access to Neal Young and Crazy Horse and rode the support crew bus up to Seattle from East of Portland. ( And then partied at the hotel ) Sigh.... The adventure we have had.

anyhoo.... We both love the Pixies and I was not able to go to the show in Bend last year, but hooked T up with a ride and accomodations for it. She is going to 2 of the 4 shows they are doing here this weekend. (2 B-Sides and 2 - Classics). She is hard core dedicated, but at $40 a pop I was not able to let my freak flag fly that high. lol. No mind...we are going to have a **great** time!!

And then my family leaves for a camping trip on Lopez Island in the San Juans early the next morning!

Bliss!

Ok - The Pixies Report...

THEY ROCKED!!!! But of course you knew that already.

And Joey Santiago http://flickr.com/photos/sooz/1857390/ was on FIRE. (and I'm not just talking the obvious visual hotness. ) And Tina and I were right there at that very angle at this show. We ditched our guys up in the balcony to 'go to the bathroom' - which we did. But we forgot to come back. Humina!

Kim and Frank were in great form as well. It just blows me away how much of what these guys did influenced so many artists that at at my core. They rose up fast right at the start of my college life. Ahhh those were they days!

Tina and I had a great time of course. We were going crazy and singing really loud and waving our arms and dancing when we were up in the balcony. (we were going nuts when we were on the floor too, but everybody down there was. In old fart land (which is where we proudly were for awhile) everyone was all mellow. 'cept for us.

Getting up the next morning was he11. I slept outside though so I woke early with the sun and we were off for Lopez shortly after 7:00. Axel drove to the show and was the designated driver so he would not have to drive with a hangover for 6 hours Saturday. He is such a sweetie to do this for me and my Spicy -T.
