Hmmm....maybe it depends on if you're over or under 30!

Well, I am over 30 (sshhhhhh!!!)..a bit..but I got started late on anything beyond top 40 stuff...I listened to music with my sister and our friends, and they never quite got my taste for things not quite center stage. I used to gravitate towards the slightly alternative stuff, but never really got into it til recently, mostly cause I stopped listening to radio about 10 years ago, and anything I found after that was through dh, usually, and while he is not top 40 bubble gum by any means, who is DEF not my style! LOL
He refuses to let me play WS at all within his earshot, and he thinks a lot of my other stuff is just stupid...Thank God for earphones and mp3 players! LOL
To me, music is so personal, and means so much to me, that I can't handle listening to it around people who don't like it, cause it feels like it hurts ME...even if that has nothing to do with it.
Well, that went a little OT! My point was, Jack is HAWT, in a way that Robert Smith just isn't! IMNSHO!!
I get what you mean mama! It is so personal and deep! Thinking of Robert Smiths hotness brings me back to a different time, lol...it just puts me in a mood, ya know. Jack White is definately hot and I surely wouldn't kick him outta bed for eating crackers but he doesn't have hold of my 14 y/o girl heart

Yeah, Cold Mountain set it all off for me....
I had been hearing the name White Stripes for a while, but for some reason, I was thinking it was this band from the 80's, regenerated. Beyond thinking good for them, they are still hanging on, I pretty much ignored them.
Then I saw Cold Mountain, saw Georgia, looked him up, and was THAT'S the White Stripes??? I was so mad I had been missing out for so long! LOL I downloaded some music to get a feel for what they were about, and OMG, it was like a whole new world was opened up for me. I was interested in actively listening to music again, rather than just the random thing that I happened to like, which was what my playlists had been up to then..
The fact that Jack is unbelievably unbelievable is just a HUUUUGE side bonus! LOL
