well, what do you guys think? Love it, hate it?

At first I hated it, until I really gave it some thought and realized that Joss Whedon respects his viewers too much to spoon feed them an ending. The end of the Angel series is not about defeating Wolfram and Hart, it's about how what makes Angel human is his will to fight for what's right even in the face of great adversity.

I admit I got teary eyed when Wes died, and as Connor walked away from Angel. There were some *great* moments in this episode. I would have liked for Angel and Wes to have a final "moment" together, but one can't have everything. I'm glad we never saw the Senior Partners, and Lindsey's death and Lorn's reaction to it was gutwrenching.

The WB did Angel a great disservice by not giving it a full season to wrap up its mytharc and other storylines. But ultimately, it was shown that though Angel may never feel the sunlight on his face again, he's more human than many of us. I can live with that.

i already knew it all-- dh read all the spoliers, so i knew it was left open, and that Wes dies. originally i think Gunn was supposed to die too, and then they decided that would take away from the death of Wes, so they left it open.

I think it could have been better, and that it wasn't meant to end this way-- they did the best they could to wrap things up, but i think they at least needed another season. It would be interesting to see for sure--- no Wes, no Lauren, no Harmony maybe on Gunn so def Fred/Elyria, Spike, and Angel. One of the plotlines for next season was them attempting to split Fred/Elyria back into 2 people. I wonder where else it would have gone... Angel wouldn't have been with WH anymore.. that would be interesting. Anyway, lol I need sleep so I am probably just babbling now

This is the one show I decided to stay spoiler-free for. I knew what was happening on both ER and Smallville, and I know what's coming in the next 4 episodes of Queer as Folk. My best friend's teenage daughter was *dying* to tell me what was gonna happen, but I refused to let her. I'm glad; it would have stolen the poignancy of Wesley's death.

The more I think about it, the more okay I am with the ending. Angel didn't get his humanity back, but I think that was his redemption. He chose to sacrifice his second greatest wish (his first being Connor's well-being), in order to bring down the Senior Partners.

It was rushed, but I don't blame Whedon for that. He and his team worked their butts off to retool the end of the season to bring closer to the show.

I would dearly love for the Buffy/Angelverse to survive in tv movies. Nothing would make me happier than seeing the Scooby gang all together again, minus, of course, Anya and Wesley.

On a somewhat unrelated note, it was fun to see Adam Baldwin doing his "super soldier" routine again. He totalled kicked it as Knowle Rohr on the X-Files, and as Jayne on Firefly.

I've decide I'm going to use this forum as my personal soapbox about the state of television from now on ;-) I'm a bitter fan whose favorite shows are all gone now, with the exception of Smallville. Now that was one gawd-awful season finale.

i don't follow angel (though it broke my heart when buffy ended), but what happened on Smallville? I missed it. I missed Gilmore Girls, too. Season finale already?

Lana left, a girl who claimed to be from Krypton lured Clark into the caves where he seemingly vanished into thin air, Lionel is on death row, Clark told Lex to sod off, and Chloe and her father are allegedly dead. Someone has poisoned Lex's scotch *again*, and we end with him writhing on the floor, clutching his throat.

If you detailed, very snarky recaps of Smallville, you can check Television Without Pity.

I love Smallville just often enough to make up for the times when it really, really sucks.
