Just returned. We go every year. This year it was North, to Duck and Corolla. The wild horses in 4x4 country are beatiful. If you have a true 4x4 vehicle you can take it to the end of Hwy 12 and then drive on the beach for miles. There are lots of houses out there and the only way to get there is with a 4x4. So much fun! We dont stay there though, bc the beach is the road and it can be busy. We've done Hatteras as well. We usually avoid Nags Head and Kitty Hawk b/c the beaches are more crowded and more of the houses don't have pools, but I love the touristy stuff there, Jockey's Ridge and The Wright Brothers Memorial are fun. There is an aquarium in Manteo (Where Gretchen Lives) that is fun. We climb light houses (hatteras and currituck) and love to fly kites. Have a great time. I wanna go baaaaaaaaaaack!

oooh...i haven't been since they moved the hatteras lighthouse. i was...um...oh yes, 21 the summer we went. in fact, my 21st bday was spent driving across the very-wide-state of NC it was a sunday, which meant i had a very dry 21st bday. hrm.
i loved ocracoke. i can't believe it's been that long, actually. wow. i want to go back. we stayed on hatteras.
