AMTRAK/GREYHOUND??

Does anyone have an idea of the best (cheapest) times to travel on amtrak or greyhound?

I am wanting to take a trip with my kids and am needing the cheapest way to get there!

Thanks for the help!!

if you just go on the websites, put in the dates, it will give you all the options and prices for that date. I was surprised at how easy it was to use the Amtrak website.

I think travelling by train with kids would be awesome, by greyhound it may be difficult.

Whenever I looked into traveling with Amtrack, it has been very expensive; often moreso than by airplane! Also, they had wonky departure times, like 3 am. Still would love to travel by train though!

Greyhound. I guess they are the cheapest way to travel, depending what city you're trying to get to. My DD's friend flew to Boston for $120. (We're in NE Ohio. ABout 1 1/2 hour flight, if that.)

If you do go Greyhound sit up front. The partyers seems to occupy the back seats, so I'm told.
