Traveling MamasWondering how to entertain your 2-yr-old on a long trip? Got questions about airfares or car routes? Want to know where the best tourist or camping spots are? Moving across the country? C'mon in!
I thought we would have enough miles racked up to use our milage plan on our credit card, but we are a little short, so it looks like we're going to have to pay for our tickets to las vegas in a couple weeks.
Are all the online places like expeida pretty much the same? Has anyone ever used priceline and got a really great deal? Is there any place that's reputable that has really cheap fares?
It looks like it's going to be around $350 each for us to fly out of Seattle, and I would really like to find something cheaper than that.
You go to expedia.com or orbitz.com then find the cheapest then go to the website directly it's usually $5 less at least. Also sites like JetBlue, Southwest Airlines, www.spiritair.com, etc. don't always come up on those comparison sites. You have to go to those sites directly.

my feedback
I have found the cheapest tickets by calling airlines directly. But then I do qualify for the military rate and you normally can't get those at the online sites.
They were 1/3 of the price of hotwire when I was playing around to check prices to Romania to see a friend.
$3500 on hotwire, and only $1400 on us.lastminute.com. BUT.....it was only that cheap by getting the flght and hotel as a package. IIRC, it was $1000 more just to book the flght.
So, it was $2400 per person total for just the flight, or $1400 per person for both the flight & hotel!! Even if you don't use he room, it would be crazy not to get the room just to save the money!!!
