Need ideas for Ft. Lauderdale vacation

We are visiting my fil & his fiancee in FL for 9 days starting 2/2. I need to come up with ideas of things to do because my fil is planning everything--none of which I really want to do.

Any ideas for me? We did the boat ride to the riverwalk and saw all the mansions. We're also going to Flamingo Gardens and some Alligator zoo (?)

My fil drives me CRAZY, and I'd like to come up with some ideas of things we can do without him and just the four of us (dh, kids, and me).

TIA

come see me

Take a day trip to Everglades national park and go walking on the trails like the Anhinga trail. Amazing birds, and the kids can see gators in their native habitat. http://www.nps.gov/ever/visit/trail-rp.htm

An airboat ride in the Everglases is fun.

Butterfly world is a really nice place to see.

which is not that far from lion county safari

Museum of discovery and science is fun for the kids http://www.mods.org/

As is this childrens museum http://www.youngatartmuseum.org/

Riverwalk area in Ft. Lauderdale is very happening. I think the performing arts is playing Pinocchio

The weather will be a nice break for you! You should enjoy Flamingo Gardens. It's about 5 miles from my house. I'll see what else I can think of.

There is also Miami metrozoo, Miami seaquarium, Parrot Jungle, and Monkey Jungle in Miami.

I am thinking of going to FT L with my dh on biz in couple of weeks.

I'll be the loney one, with no children.
