Smile Dh wants to go on vacation, but we need some help figuring out where to go.

Now that I finally put this post in the right forum.....

So, where should we go? He said he wants to go somewhere for a week, but we just cannot come up with anything. How sad is that?! We live in Florida and are planning to take the girls to Disney for Christmas, so theme parks are out (we take them to a theme park every year instead of buying gifts). Mountains maybe? I don't know. Anyone near Hilton Head, NC? Is that a good place?

So tell me, what's your favorite vacation spot?

LOL, I was just kidding! But really, KY and TN are beautiful ~ as well as Vermont. The mountains are spectacular... and you can stay in cabins, go inside caves, etc. We don't have THAT here! LOL!

They're getting big, aren't they? Sniff... and it seems like last year you made them their favorite bibs!

They sure are getting big. Heck, Kali's 2 now!! Ooh, I'd love to stay in a cabin. I'll have to check into that. We went to KY & TN last year on our way up to Chicago. Never been to Vermont before, though.

Decisions, decisions.

I'm still complaining of the heat! I think it was 92 in the shade today with about 95% humidity. Thank God for a/c!

Mary wants to go to Washington D.C.

Destin!

We just had a great time in Destin - en route to Orlando we stopped there for four days. We stayed in the Holiday Inn kid suites and had a blast!
Beautiful hotel, great pools, wonderful service - and private beach access.

And, assuming you don't know (which you may) Destin has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world - I've been to Hawaii and I'd have to say they rival in comparison. (Although, Hawaii does have that gorgeous coral and tropical fish)

We are beach lovers (we love to scuba and snorkel) so my first suggestion would be the Keys. John Pennecamp Park is great fun!

How about the Okefonokee Swamp in Georgia? I know I spelled that wrong!

Or a week in Savannah or going to Stone Mountain?

KY & TN...

Mammoth Cave, Guntown Mountain, KY DownUnder, KY Lake...

Gatlinburg TN, Smokey Mountains.....

Or, if you want to stay near home, by beaches, hop on over to Gulf Shores/OrangeBeach/Fort Morgan , AL......

DH lived in Ft. Walton for a long time while his dad was in the military. They do have the most gorgeous beaches there, don't they? His dad and step-mom still live up there; not sure I want to spend my vacation toooooo near them, KWIM?

Pennekamp Park in the Keys is wonderful!

We just spent a week on a cruise to Mexico. It was so easy and really fun.

Do you mind sharing your budget? There's quite a range!

Hi Janet! We are thinking about going away for a few days. I am thinking either the Keys or St. Augustine. I have always wanted to stay in a cottage or cabin in the Smoky Mountains. Cruising is my #1 favorite way to travel!
