B&B's in Ozarks but NOT Branson?

OUr 10th anniversary is in August and I would really like for dh and I to go awa for a long weekend without the kids (ds is not happy about this idea lol). BIL and SIL recommended Buffalo River Lodge . It sounds good and I think DH would go for it because of the activites they offer but I don't care for the room decor. Goofy I know, but I'd like to find a place that doesn't look like someone's guest room. I's like it to be a *little* romatic KWIM?

DH is anti Branson since he hates country music and it's "culture" and it *is* too commercial and turisty for us. I don't want to go site seeing or to shows I want to do something like horse back riding (maybe), canoeing for an afternoon, hiking ect, at least something outside and not too "canned" It also needs to be in a decent driving distance (we are in SE Kansas)
