Traveling MamasWondering how to entertain your 2-yr-old on a long trip? Got questions about airfares or car routes? Want to know where the best tourist or camping spots are? Moving across the country? C'mon in!
Sorta OT: So, how do I find the most economical (aka: cheapest) plane tickets.
So, if I'm going to fly my sorry east coast self out for the Fabric Expo, where can I find plane tickets for the lowest price? I haven't flown in a bazillion years and I have no idea where to start. Gee, do I sound like a country bumkin, or what? Any suggestions?
I know you live in MD - are you close to Baltimore? You can often find cheap rates from BWI to Seattle on Southwest. Check www.iflyswa.com for their rates. For other airlines I like www.expedia.com. I would imagine that a good price on a ticket for you will be around $250 or so.
With all of you fun people planning to go, I wish I could come too. Too bad people have already taken my bed in Allison's house. LOL!
OT - but Marcey I got the fabric and clothes today. Thanks so much. My DD is already wearing the sweatsuit and was wondering why you didn't make a matching one for her little sister. LOL! I love love love the hemp jersey like I knew I would, now I just have to figure out how to use black.
Mom won't be here Niri, she said you can use her room
Search using expedia, but don't book with them. They add a surcharge. Go to the airlines home page and use them for booking once you find the cheapest. It will probably be southwest though, they are always cheapest. They pack you in like cattle, but they charge cattle prices.

Southwest looks like $94 each way. I put in Thurs. - Sun., so you might be able to manipulate days and get cheaper.
Shannon was going to try and do Thur - Sun, so maybe we could coordinate pick up at the airport. Do you have a place to stay? You are welcome here. I think Sarah has room too.
Not online, but I've used Golden Rule Travel before and gotten a great deal, better than the internet. They're a conservative mennonite family run travel agency out of VA, but they will FedEx your tickets to you and sell to you over the phone. The phone number is (540) 788-3505.

Mooooooooooo. OK, I can swing $200ish! Whaa Hooo. I think this is do-able!
Soctt said to make sure I pack disposible clothes so that I can toss them and pack my suitcases with the goodies I buy! ROFL I love how that man not only knows me so well, but can find the humor in my obsession!
I was just coming to ask when everyone is getting there... Wed or Thurs... and when leaving Sat or Sun. I was even thinking of getting a rental car, too, if I can swing that.
Marcey, I went to cheaptickets.com and found the cheapest fare. Then I went to that airline's website and it was ever so slightly cheaper. Can't wait to see you! You are making me want to go to the Expo too

OK, this is funny. I've tried to search Priceline *twice* for a flight from Baltimore to Seatle. It keeps giving me flight to Lyon, France! ROFL Hmmm, maybe it's trying to tell me something. Hey, lets move this whole thing to France, OK?
Heather, I'm going crazy till you get here! I'm so excited!!!!! 12 days, right?????
