A snowball's chance in India.long)

I have always had a dream of living in India. When I was in high school I was passionate about being in the Peace Corps and helping out in the world some way. I have found a way to do just that and better myself. I have found a center I can certify for yoga. It is a two month training and they provide food and shelter the whole time. You can also pick up other Indian skills like carving, metal work, dancing and languages. I would also teach English at their center as a volunteer, it would also lower my costs at the center by a great deal to volunteer. This is a dream I would love to fulfill. Dh is pitching a fit. I told him I could work it all out. My mom and his mom could come to the house each two weeks to take care of the kids. When school is out the rest of the fam. could come to India. Dh gets 5 wks vaca time from work. He could use 3 wks of it in India. They welcome children into the classrooms. He could also learn to cook and serve Indian dishes (another class they offer) a desire he has expressed. It is driving me nuts. He won't even listen. He says I am just crazy to expect him to hangout while I get free time to myself. I asked him if it is worth bettering myself and helping people out? He said no. I don't want to be mother teresa or anything, but I want to know I have made a difference. I want to travel to far away places. I want my children to be worldly travelers. I want them to appreciate the priviledge of being born in the US and use that to their fullest potential. I want them to be charitable people. i know that doesn't mean we have to leave the country to understand all that, it is my dream though. -sigh-
