click on 'my page' at the top of this page, then click on 'edit options' and scroll down to the bottom, hit the 'change avatar' button.

Now in the 'use custom avatar section' check the 'yes' box. If your avatar was saved to your computer already then hit the choose button on the last line and find the avatar on your computer and select the file. Then hit 'submit modifications' button and it should work.

If it doesn't it could be too big (bigger than 50 by 50 pixels) or it means the title of the file may contain spaces or punctuation-I fought for a week with one of my avatars to find out I had a '&' in the title and it wouldn't accept it.

Hope this helps. I'm assuming you already know all this stuff I wrote and it's some horribly complicated problem and I know nothing but I tried

I'll try to help...

then
go to "My Page"
got to "Edit Options"
scroll to the bottom of the page
click "chage avatars"
follow directions.

it is tricky... if I recall correctly... you get the avatar and then **recheck** all the setting on the page. I think it defaults back to the guest/no avatar setting and you need to choose "Yes" again if you did it already the first time.

HTH

I have gotten several of mine from Avatars or you can just do a search on the web for "animated gifs" and you should be able to find some! hth!

Thank you Cathy. How do you make an image smaller so it will fit in the 50x50 ?
I appreciate the help!

My word, I did it, LOL!

Twinglebabies, On the sites where you can get the animated gif, they will have an edit pic option and then you have to type in the smaller size to fit here. Then simply save it and enter it into change avavtar section of edit profile options.
I hope that works for ya. I am not savvy on the computer so I stopped as soon as something worked

If you need to shrink it you can go to gifworks.com and shrink it there to fit!

I hope y'all don't mind, but I'm moving this to the "Amity Mama How-to" forum, so it won't get too buried - very useful information here!
