I also like the photo books for printing many at a time - I did a format that was 9 pictures per page this year and it was a nice way to keep them all together without framing them.
I totally agree with this advice. You will find as you wait a few months you will be more apt to think less is more.
Rebecca- I'm looking at the blurb.com website and I like it. The 'albums' that you mention, are those what you get printed at blurb.com?
Sarah
Yup!
I do an 8x10 ish horizontal for all but the 100 favorites which I do in the biggest size. I get image wrap and I keep my style consistent.

"Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said until him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments have all the law and the prophets."
My family albums generally cost me about $50 and my 100 favorites costs me about $75.
That might seem like a lot, but how much would you spend scrapbooking a year of your family? Also, they make great grandparent presents. My parents LOVE them.
Wow! great ideas! I think i'm going to make dvd's of all the pictures that I have. That way I can keep them organized and print them if I want to in the future. And then look into the photobooks, and print the ones I love for our walls.

I hope to have a framed picture wall in our next house, that I can add to throughout the years. Do any of you have a wall of pictures like that? I would love to see pictures for ideas

I don't think that sounds like a lot at all! Scrapbooking can be very very pricey. I can totally see the grandparents LOVING this
Thank you for your input on this and answering all my questions!

My entryway wall has a collection of framed images. I went with all white frames (the wall is a dusty purple), some are the same style and some are different styles but all white for uniformity. Actually there are a few glass with pressed flower frames as well. Anyhow when I printed my images many of them I added short text in the lower right (where a professional print might have a studio logo printed) that says the location and date. For example I have one of two of the kids walking the beach with the Golden Gate bridge in the background and in the corner it says 'San Francisco 2007' and another is of Hannah at 6months old and it has the month and year. I know that when friends are perusing the wall they like those little notes. My wall isn't perfectly the way I want it, we are no gallery, but I like it
I'd love to see a photo Rebecca. I've been printing my blogs from blurb books. But I've never printed an album. I planned on doing so this year. But I may go back over last year and get one or two printed as well.

I'm in the process of uploading them to flickr. Click my flickr link in my siggy and you'll see a few pictures. I'll delete them in a few days as I don't like having extra junk in my flickr photostream.
Here are some pictures of my books. I have many. Let's see family 2007, family 2008, Rasmo cousins 2007, Rasmo cousins 2008, St. Thomas 2007, Disneyworld 2008, Miles cousins 1008, 100 favs 2007, and 100 favs 2008. All have the same style with the exception being that the favs are the largest size they have.
Scrapbooking is pretty cheap for me, as I am not a fancy scrapbooker, and I have a pretty large supply built up over the years, and I get a lot as gifts.
Even then, I probably spend about $150 a year. Maybe $100 on a frugal year. If I didn't love doing it so much, I'd switch to something like that. Maybe I'll start doing both.
