ok, the cake smash.
he's a cutie one year old guy. my first growing collection graduate!
anyways, we did the cake smash as part of his session...oh my goodness was it fun he had a blast!
i had a lightbulb moment last night in bed regarding the custom white balance and my strobes...and how to slave them all together with my camera and make it work. i've been avoiding the strobe aspect because i just couldn't figure it all out together, either it was overexposed, too cool, underexposed or whatever.
i got up this morning to set up the studio and made my kids let me practice on them...perfect! love those moments.
anyways...here he is. hope you enjoy!
and yes, i know...i cut his feet off. he stood up so fast i didn't have time to back up my tripod...hrm. i still like it though.
That's really sweet! Love the background and the cake smash is a great idea!
One thing that bugs me, that is beyond your control, is the disposable. I think that you should get a set of neutral, natural looking cloth dipes, one in each size, and have those even to put over the sposies. Just an idea.
I love checking out your work, you have a gift for sure.

michelle, i agree with you about the diaper. and i do...i have kissaluvs and sandi's in various sizes. this client has used them in the past, however this time she preferred to use all white disposable diapers...her choice (i had a sandi available to her to cover it.)
in fact...she sought out and tried various brands of diapers until she found that publix premium diapers were mostly white as opposed to the branded diapers with characters on the tape line.
so...not my choice i pick my battles and while i may offer suggestions to the client and have alternatives on hand...ultimately it's their choice yk?
but yeah...i am not fond of the sposies. check out my blog...i've got lots of babies on there and they are all in kissaluvs or sandis
thank you for the compliment i love the blue seamless.
Love 'em! I'm about to do my first few (niece and a friend's babies are about to be one in July) and am not sure where/how to do them without backdrops... suggestions?
