Sigma 28-70mm DG lens

I'm just not happy with my 50mm lens as an all purpose lens and am really regretting not getting a kit lens to start. So, I've been looking around and am wondering if I'll be disappointed with this lens or if I should spend an extra $100+ on the Nikon 18-70mm. Any opinions?

Here's the Sigma lens I'm eyeing - eBay: NEW Sigma 28-70mm DG Lens NIKON D80 D200 D50 D70 28-70 (item 300125985271 end time Jul-06-07 16:33:54 PDT)

Really? I know there's an EX version also, but it's about 3x the price.

I think I'm just going to get it. I suppose if I don't love it, I can always resell it!

Thanks for the input, Julie

I bought it The EX version is probably much nicer, but this will have to do until later this year.
