Talk to me about Lightroom

I downloaded the trial. I remember Julie saying she likes it, so I'm wondering why you ladies like it?

i think julie bought the full version (i think?) once it came out.

i didn't really care for the trial so i haven't purchased the full version. i much preferred cs2 and didn't find it could do anything photoshop couldn't do so it seemed to double my workload (personally.)

it is entirely possible i missed the main point, however. lots of folks seem to really like it.

i can edit all the pictures in a photo session at one time. i can repeat (create a batch) at the push of a button.

i think it's really mainly just a more user friendly easy to learn program than CS2...it does all the same things...i just don't know how to do them as easily on cs2.

also i find on cs2 that i can't open and view all the pictures i'm editing at once and go back and forth.

(also could be b/c i dont' konw how to do that on cs2)

i'm curious...what sort of edit would you do to multiple photos at once? i can see doing watermarks or image sizing...but everything else i do one at a time (personally...but i have heard of others doing batch edits, just never could figure out why and what?)

i can batch edit in cs2 for image size (resolution for gallery proofs) or watermarking (i made an action and can run it on a batch)...i did see that you can do sepia in lightroom really easily...but i can do that on color balance in cs2.

enlighten me! i love learning how other folks do things. maybe i'm taking the long way around...

julie, do you still use cs2 or did you get cs3? or do you use lightroom exclusively?

i desaturate all at once when converting to black and white....sometimes i do the same thing to 5 pictures at once...up the contrast or lighten or warm

Not from what I have seen. I've been using Camera Raw for a bit now and just dl'd the trial for Lightroom last night and can't figure out how to do anything in it that I was doing in Raw. And, fwiw, Raw 4.1 is even better!
