I entered this picture in the KC zoo contest this year:

This is the first time I've entered any competition for anything since I was in high school. I did not place and I was a little disappointed until I saw the winning entries which were clearly better than mine, but gives me something to work toward for next year

thanks. my dh says I was robbed, but I think some of them were definitely better - ironically not the one that won 1st place, but the 2nd place and honorable mentions were better.

But, I love it and I have a goal for next year and I found out that our local arboritum also has a contest, but I don't think I'll work on that one until I get a macro lens.

i took some photos of jekyll island when we were on vacation there..i'm off to see if there are any contests for photos of that...hmmm..

nope. I've held this one off the internet until after the results of the contest were announced. I have, however, posted zoo pictures. Just not this one. You might be remembering my elephant one.

The only photos even close IMO were the gorilla face and the tiger up close.

The bee did not catch my interest at all.

The hippo, on the other hand, drew me in... I love that huge mouth!
