hOW TO HARVEST AND DRY NETTLES?

I have this thick patch of nettles growing near the compost- I suppose they got there from my infusions? Anyhow, how do I dry the rascals and any tips for harvesting without getting stung?

Type in "harvest dry nettles" in a google search - there's lots of hits! I think you'll want to wear gloves so you won't get stung...

I always dried them hung upside down under a covered area tied in bunches. My friend was the one who harvested them... within a day or two, the needles are soft enough that they won't sting anymore.

You will get a lot of tips from a google search. Good luck!

Nettles are a wonderful addition to teas, and have some protien in them, along with tons of minerals. Good stuff!
