Question Natural toothpaste options.

Do you make your own? What do you use? Commerical products?
I have been using baking soda and salt, but I am reading that baking soda is too abrasive???

I don't want to use something with flouride...and I don't want to use something with glycerine. Is there anything like this?
Thanks~

Sudantha is a great toothpast made of herbs and clay.

I sometimes use soap as well

Auramere is a new tothpaste I purchased at the HFS...it was pricey but works good. Similar to Sudantha. Has neem in it.

Article about what Oprah Winfrey has in her medicine cabinet

I've been using Eco Dent Toothpowder for over a year now and love it! And, it doesn't have flouride. I specifically use the Extra Brite:

SpecialCare line of specialty toothpowders (Res-Q-DenT®, TartarGuard®, and ExtraBrite®) contain additional ingredients, such as CoQ10, Antibacterial Enzymes, Zinc, Bee Propolis, or Peroxide, for enhanced health and cosmetic benefits.

We use this http://www.perfect-prescription.com/dentalhygiene.htm. It comes in little soap flakes that you place on your teeth and brush and it foams up nicely. No glycerine or flouride! The taste is pretty mild, it comes in peppermint, spearmint, and cinnamon, but I don't think those flavors come out much. It does taste a bit like soap, but not bad at all. We bought the package that comes with the book, which is an interesting read, but nothing that you can't find on the internet. I can even get my 7-year-old to use it and she's VERY picky about taste~

I wanted to add to the list of great toothpastes commercially available my all time favorite.... Waleda Salt toothpaste. You don't put water on your brush when you start brushing, but it makes your mouth salivate naturally which is best for oral health. Here is the link to the Weleda New Zealand website if you can't find it in the store. http://www.weleda.co.nz/products/2993.cfm

I have tried to use the other natural toothpastes since switching to the Salt paste and I can't stand them. They taste funny, the bubbles in my mouth feel really icky, and I don't feel like my mouth is clean. It is like there is some sort of residue left. yuck.
