so i saw a donvier yogurt maker at our local thrift store...

which would definitely encourage me to try it... yes, yes, i know, i can just use a thermos in the oven, etc., etc. i've printed out all the threads!

anyway, the prob as i see it w/ the donvier is that the glass jars have plastic lids! so, then, as you heat it, the yucky chemicals from the lids are going into your yogurt. correct?

I don't know about the type of plastic they use, but you could check the lid size and see if a canning lid would fit the top.
