No cavities & I was brave enough to say "no flouride"!
Just came back from the dentist with my 3 year old -- his first visit.
It is just so hard to look them in the eye and actually say "I don't believe in flouride" -- I don't want flouride vitamins, I don't want the Crest toothpaste to take home, I don't want a flouride treatment.
They look at you like you have two heads. Held my breath with each kid. No cavities, healthy teeth! Yay. That makes it easier to say, we've never used flouride toothpaste ever. They pushed me a little on it, but backed down. I just keep reiterating, we think flouride is toxic to the body and has no value when used systemically. Over and over.
It's done. At least until the next visit. I'm getting braver -- its hard for me, I've always been such a people-pleaser (or at least an authority-pleaser).
