How do YOU prepare your chard?
I have soem beautiful organic chard. I want to cook today when dh comes home for lunch.
I am planning to mince a garlic clove and a wee bit of Italian sweet onion and sautee the chard in coconut oil and the onion and garlic.
How do you like your chard?
We spent $60 on organic produce the other day while in Fayetteville.
I have been overeating the past couple days on wonderful food, I tell ya!
I dont know how...but the organic produce our HFS gets is the tastiest most beautiful looking food around! Since Af showed up yesterday, I am not feeling guilty about eating all this either

I'm too simple, I just cook it in a pan with a bit of Earth Balance, once wilted I add a few dashed of Bragg's. I can eat rediculous amounts in one sitting. *lol*

Thanks for posting that! I usually make mine with olive oil & garlic, but I'm not eating garlic now so I've been wondering what do with it. I'm craving it & bought some but lacked inspiration. I've got Braggs in the cupboard though so I'm set! Thanks!
I pretty much cook my chard much the same way you do yours with the only exception is that I use olive rather than coconut oil.
Oh, know what else is good with it? Toss in some dried cranberries and pinenuts.
then, if you really want to endulge, toss in some goat cheese after you are done sauteing
um...that sounds really yummy.
I'm pretty boring. Little bit o' garlic and that's abt it. DH and the kids seem to like it that way, but it does get old towards the end of the season. I'm going to keep these suggestions in mind!
OT - KR have you heard anything abt "Old Souls Organics"? They're an organic gardening store in Fay, but I've heard that they just started getting organic veggies in on tuesdays and it's supposed to be cheaper than ONF. Know anything abt it?
We have a 'Chard yard' it grows here and there in our yard and the kids go harvest it (cut big leaves off and let more grow for another day) a lot.
I wash it, rip it into smaller pieces, put it in a large sautee pan with a little olive oil or canola oil (depends on my mood), shake garlic salt all over it and put a lid on it. When the pan heats up, I stir it a bit and leave the heat on maybe 8 minutes, turn it off and forget it until about 20 minutes later. Then, we gobble it up and say "MMMMMmmmm".
