Sage and lavender harvesting and uses?

Hi Mamas,

I have Sage and Lavender for the first time this year and could use tips on harvesting and usage. Looks like there are recipes available for both, so I'd love any you could share. Also - any tips on making smudges with the sage? It looks like I can roll off the flowers from the lavender and use the stems and leaves for firelighters, too. I have a lot of lavender, so I could do this with some and have plently left for cooking and making dream squares etc. But I'm not sure how far I should cut back either of these plants.

I think I missd the boat on both, too. It looks like maybe I was suposed to start cutting back before they bloomed. Uh oh! So what do I do now? ANy tips are greatly appreciated!!
