We (Me and both dd's) have been undergoing NAET treatments for the last three weeks. We found a wonderful practitioner who is also a medical intuitive. She is amazing. (I am not easily impressed) OUr health is improving...and we are eating more kinds of foods. I can't believe it. I was so scared to try new stuff after a year of eating such a limited diet. We were eating;
Rice-white and brown, peeled white potatoes, rice oil, garlic, leeks, red and green cabbage, brussel sprouts, black, white and garbanzo beans, lamb and chicken(we were formerly vegetarian), rice milk, tapioca starch, xanthan gum, salt and pepper, green beans, butter beans, split peas, maple syrup...I think that is it. no fruit-noone tolerated it.
We had extreme behavioral reactions and physical reactions. Red bottoms, red face, night waking, colic, huge tantrums(dd 1), depression(me), gastro intestinal distress....reflux for dd's, your basic hell and more. dd#2 has had one normal diaper in her life. Eczema and acne on dd#1 arms. We could not eat anywhere but home...never went out...and just lived a miserable existence afraid of food.
We have added apples, blueberries, raspberries, banana, cows milk(!!!), broccoli, salad, sweet potatoes....and today I tried egg. I have tolerated it, but dd#2 skin tested positive for it. SO~keeping fingers crossed that she'll be fine. It took me all three weeks to get up the nerve to try it even though egg is one of the first things they treat.
I am still breast feeding, we all look and feel a million times better. dd#1 can play on her own(which she was unable to do before) Her mood is wonderful. Even on a tough treatment day she is never half as bad as before treatment. I am so glad I stuck to my belief system and did not give up on breast feeding. Believe me, besides my husband I had no support.
dd #2 is tolerating applesauce~yay! she loves it and her tummy and bms are OK.
The treatments are tough. There is a strange list of avoidance with each treatment. It is really tough doing all three of us at once. However, it is so very worth it. SOme treatments everyone feels fine, other days one or all of us feel really yucky. But it ends when the avoidance time is over. Dd#2 has had to refrain from breast feeding for up to 10 hours on a treatment day~holy cow~ one day it was hard and the next time she had no problem.
I miss my dh so much. He is still home in New Zealand and we are staying with his family in the States. But, the positive far outweighs the negative. I wish I had just done it sooner.
Not one conventional doctor had helped us. I spent lots of money on Paeditric gastroenterologist and allergist etc.
We finally have help and I am so relieved. The money spent on NAET has made life worth living again. I am soblessed to be able to afford this.
Thanks for letting me share. You all are such a great support.
Added wheat and cheese. Ate in a restaurant~sandwiches and soup no problems. Eating Grilled veggie sandwiches on sourdough with avocado~yum~ Today Amy's pizza~Yippppeeeeeee! All is well.
11/27 We are eating everything including the dreaded 'egg'. Life is good

WOW, Linda. I am so happy for you all.
Gosh you make me wonder about going this route w/Jake. I have thought of it in the past and tried to get started with someone, in fact. But she never got back to me. One of Jake's assistants at his school last year did NAET with her dd who went from autistic to normal by preschool age. Amazing.

Shifra~we are in New Mexico~near Dinabu and Momtosteen and mamatoabunch
It has been great in the States. Staying with IN Laws and they have been so supportive. I weighed 101 pounds and looked awful when I disembarked from the airplane I think that NAET has saved our lives also. We all look like a healthy family again. I actually don't want to go back to New Zealand. I am sure because I have been sick there most of the time we lived there, and I am regaining my health and life here in the States.
Lauren-if you do it, I would seriously research the practitioner and get recommendations. You can do that through Dr. N-the creator/founder. Find a really experienced practitioner. I know that my practitioner has worked with kids with Autism who now are not diagnosed on the spectrum at all...I am so moved by this whole experience that I am considering a career in NAET.(I am a Nurse) I don't know how/why it works but it sure does.
I have had a few eggs-and no problems with Aidra.(she skin tested positive for them a couple of months ago) She has had no reaction at all.We are going out for a Latte today and buying a loaf of bread from WHole Foods. I can't believe it. By the end of the week I should be able to try pizza in a *gasp* restaurant.
One interesting aspect to all of this is~
I am able to eat yummy foods again, but I am not craving them. No cravings at all. That is so fascinating to me. In the past I sure as heack craved bread. Today I will get to eat it, and I am excited, but I am not craving it. Strange. I am so looking forward to pizza Wooohooooooooo!
My In-laws who don't believe in any of this(hokus pocus) at all have even been quietly remarking on our progress. I know they are intruiged~lol. So an added side benefit is it might broaden their horizens a bit.
Wow, Linda. That is fantastic! I've been interested in NAET and medical intuition for some time now. It is great to hear how well it's working for you.
That is soooo awesome! As you know we are doing something somewhat similar. It has changed our lives! I'm so glad you are finally making headway! Keep us updated!
Oh, Linda, I'm sooooo glad for you! I started dancing around the room! I've been offline due to a computer problem, but I came here lookign for some kind of update from you.
ETA... we're successfully adding foods for Anders now (well, so far grapes and sweet potatoes! so now I'm eating rice, corn, pork, beef, blueberries, grapes, sweet potatoes, and rice flatbread)... but I still consider NAET. Was there a practitioner up here you were considering?
