Outer ear infection? Smelly, profuse ear wax in one ear.

That's what I have. It is a little itchy, but mostly I am cleaning more liquidy, darkish ear wax out of my right ear, and it smells. It smells like a dog's ear. LOL. Pretty gross. The other ear is fine.

Any ideas? I tried putting H2O2 in it and it fizzed up good, but I didn't want to do that too much. I put a drop of tea tree oil on a cotton ball and put it in there. I do still have my garlic ear oil unpacked...unfortunately I packed my favorite homeopathy books already. :P I should not have done that!

I would warm some garlic oil up and drop it in, let it sit for a few minutes and then clean out the ear. do this a couple time until clean, then put some garlic oil and a cotton ball to hold it in tonight

Is it painful? It sounds like your eardrum burst, with the odor and pus leaking. Don't put anything in the ear that you would put in your nose, eyes or any other mucuos membrane area, it can cause secondary infection and make the problem worse, not to mention causing a LOT more burning and pain.

It's not painful. But I'm worried about putting in garlic oil or anything else in case the eardrum did burst...yet if it didn't that is what would help. Hm.

according to my understanding it wouldnt hurt really AFTER the eardrum is ruptured, only before. After the pressure is alleviated, people usually feel relief. If it is enough that it is actually running out of your ear I would vote for a rupture as well, especially with it being smelly. Hope it is better soon!

Wow. It's not actually running out of my ear, no. It's more like every day I use a couple of q-tips and the q-tips are saturated.

I think I also have a sinus infection on that side as my sinuses are all blocked up.

Yuck. Not good while moving. My health insurance is in um, Vermont. And I'm here in Florida.

hope you feel better soon. i dont usually use antibiotics, bu ti might consider them if i wer ein your situation (ge- i'm not sounding so crunchy, am i?) anyways, i dont know enough about the different thigns to put in the ear if the eardrum has ruptured to feel comfortable foing that- i usually squirt a fwe drops of milk in my kid's ears if i think they may be brewing an infection. i guess it works, cuz after a few quirts a few times a day, no one complains about an earache. once my youngest stops nursing, i'll probably do the garlic/mullein oil for them...

Thanks mamas. Tried some Kali Bi 30c last night after my sinuses also started clogging and feeling awful, and it was remarkably better.
