okay I'll play,
I try to shop once a week........here goes:
start with veggies: red peppers, eggplant, zuccini, carrots, broc, celery, salad, spinach
fruits: apples, oranges, kiwi, mango, avacado, tomatoes, yams and potatoes
next aisle: cat food, soap, cleaner, dish detergent but not this week.
next aisle: pasta, pasta sauce, couple can of soups for Raynbow, and (please no flames) Mr. Noodles for lunch one day (I can't beleive I'm admitting that on SuperCrunch)
coffee, cream, soy milk, cereal, cheese -cheddar- organic eggs, frozen peirogies, frozen juice, juice boxes-pack of 10 apple- peanut butter, bagels, rice cakes, wraps,
that is all I have right now but remarkably even if I just go to the store for one thing I still spend $100!!!

bell peppers ~ red, orange & yellow
cucumber
romaine lettuce
apples
bananas
mango chai granola
WW bread
cheese
ground turkey
carrots
and some blue bunny treats for me cuz i'm watching carbs...lol ~
I have my list on the computer and print it out so it is easier to check what we need. Since there are so many people using up stuff in our house...not everyone puts it on the list when they use something up (aka: DH). I find it so frustrating going to make a recipe to find I don't have an ingredient. It would usually mean taking all the kids to the grocery store. Hmmm...had them all at the new "Superstore" that was built in one of the cities near us. Lost track of the number of times people stopped & asked me if all the kids were mine. Then I had to admit that there was still one more, at her boy-friend's house.
Here you go:
romaine lettuce, red lettuce, cabbage, 2 bags 5lb carrots, broccoli, cauliflower, celery, potatoes, onions, lemons, oranges, apples, bananas, eggplant, avocado, zucchini, cucumber, veggie cheese, tofu, veggie meat slices, yogurt, cheese, cream cheese, apple sauce, peaches, pears, pineapple, whole wheat pasta-macaroni & fusili, brown rice, whole wheat crackers, kidney beans, black beans, romano beans, chickpeas, lentils, tomato paste, crushed tomatoes, diced tomatoes, "Mr. Noodle" (we make our own sauce & throw out the packet included), organic whole wheat flour, peanuts only peanut butter, jam, honey, O's cereal, krisp rice cereal, organic squares, raisin bran, organic oatmeal, frozen peas, frozen corn, frozen beans, frozen mixed veggies, Non SLS bulk dishwashing soap, vinegar, baking soda, organic soya milk, eggs (we lost all our chickens to a fisher & need so need to get more ), frozen orange juice, grapefruit juice (not from concentrate).
Of course there is other stuff, but I didn't need it for the shopping. I buy a specified number of each item per 2 week shopping trip & rotate the foods in the cupboards & in the freezer. I used to work in a grocery store & also worked in restaurants and got certain habits from working in those places. On my list I also have typed in the cost for each item and how many I usually buy of some of them. It all makes things easier in the long run. I also always put the items in the same place in the cupboards so no matter who is looking the item "should" be there. pssst.......I even labelled the cupboards & the fridge. I was mad at DH because he made a huge mess of the cupboards (& he worked in a grocery store from his mid teens till his twenties ) so I labelled everything. I also got tired of everyone asking me where stuff was...without them even really looking. So now they have no excuse!!
