Red face bad BO

I am embarrassed to post this but I can't figure it out on my own...

I have terrible body odor. This is a new thing. First, I became allergic to the deoderant that I normally use. (Secret). I didn't have to use it on a regular basis, just when I knew I would be in a sweaty situation. Now I break out in an unbearable rash when I use it. I switched to using Kiss my Face brand but it doesn't work.

On top of having no deoderant that works, I have developed this terrible BO. I STINK. 15 minutes after a shower I stink again. I can't figure this out. Does anyone know what might cause this. I am embarrassed to be in public. I have tried baking soda- didn't work.

Oh, and another weird thing, My underarm hair stopped growing, how weird is that?

Don't be embarassed, I was going to post something similar but haven't gotten around to it. I'm hoping someone knows what's up.

I've heard that it takes time after using chemical deo & you body has to sort of detox. How long is that suppost to take? I was never more than a 1x a week deo user (arm & hammer) and have been using a crystal since Nov. I was fine smelling in the winter so I'm wondering if my smell doesn't have something to do with the warm weather, less clothes (maybe the long sleeves were blocking the smell) or what. What is also weird is that I smell only on my right side & like you said, 15 minutes after a shower & pee-U! I wonder if the hair growth doesn't have to do with the chemical deo detox thing too.

Mama you are still so post pardum... you don't know what your body is going to do yet. Mine, personally, had something odd happen after the birth of my first.... my hair went strait. I had curly hair ALL MY LIFE and it just went strait 8 years ago. THEN when I had Cyan (3 yrs ago) I lost SO much hair that I went to the doctor and they were going to put me on something to make it stop but I never took it. Anyway, I lost over half my hair... and now, three years later I can see that the hair that is coming back is CURLY! Ugh... what am I supposed to do about that? I have half curly half strait hair! Grrrrrrr...

Anyway, so many of those things change when you are post pardum... did something like this happen with either of your other kids?

Love Val

I was thinking hormones. What you eat and products you use (chemicals) all affect it as well. When you start using a natural deo, it takes a few weeks for your body to adjust. I personally swear by chlorophyll. We love the stuff! We get the kind that tastes like spearmint and even my 4 yo loves his "green water".

Of all the natural deo's that I have tried, the ONLY one that works for me is the crystal. Anything with tea tree oil stinks to high heaven when mixed with my personal scent! I also have to put it on right after I shower or it is pointless. I stink up nice and fast!

Even using commercial deoderant, after a baby my body goes whack.

Lots, and lots, and lots of water- pee out the imbalance. Also, green food- parsley dressed with lemon, for instance.

Also, I scrub down with baking soda mixed with the soap. It seems to take off a layer of grime.

About three years ago my bo got so bad that I could not stand my own smell even right out of the shower. I tried every deodorant on the shelf and nothing helped--I could still smell the bo through the perfume which just made it worse. As a last resort I tried the crystal. At first it didn't seem to help, but after a few months I didn't smell anymore! I was so happy because I had already given up hope. So now I swear by the crystal, and won't EVER use regular deodorant again. Sometimes I still get smelly, but its nothing a shower and a fresh application of the crystal won't fix.

Another strange thing I noticed is that I smell less when I have hair there and more when I shave--weird!

I haven't used deodorant in years and I am mostly proud of the fact... I like my natural smell (and I LOVE dh's smell! It's probably why I'm with him )
But the other day I went to see my friend who's pregnant.
Before greeting me she sniffs: " Hi you just ate some (sniff sniff) ONIONS, didn't you?"
Well I had had no onions that day and was very embarrassed, LOL!

When I start to smell, that's when I shave my armpit hair!

Ditto to this. I find when I eat junk or dairy I smell more. I too like the crystal stick, except mine went bad after a couple of years. I didn't think that was possible. Probably didn't like the humidity here.

I am not eating dairy or junk. I have been on a strict dairy free, gluten free, almost all food free diet in an attempt to help esther's colic. I have been eating a ton of turkey and a ton of squash.

I don't shave my pits on a regular basis, but do it when my dh starts to get disgusted, which is about once a month. I shaved right before esther was born and not since. In the past I only used deo whan my pits were shaved. Didn't need to when I was hairy.

I will try a crystal but I am not sure how I am gonna wait a couple of months for it to work. I am so desperate. I finally broached it to DH, and he said he had been scared to tell me, but that I reek. In comparison to world issues I know this is petty, but I am getting depressed about it. I know people can smell me and they *have* to be talking about me behind my back.

Thanks for all the tips and advice mamas. And also the btdt s. It helps to know I am not the only person with BO.

Mmmm, I have had a similar problem. I was using Tom's of Maine deoderant for the last couple years and and some point in maybe the last 6 months it stopped working and I would stink 10 minutes after a shower. I did find a brand of deoderant that works now thankfully. It's called Herbal Clear with Swiss Alps Lichen. It was expensive at the hfs, $6.25, but it worked. I wasn't sure what happened. www.herbalclear.com

The crystal works best for me and when I have an importatn thing to do and need extra protection I use the crystal and then dome deodorant on top of that.

Seems to work good even in hot humid south weather.

Are you eating so much protein that you are in ketosis? When people go on the Atkins diet or South Beach diet, or other high protein/low carb diets, they go into ketosis and it has a very strong body smell. My dh was doing this, and he stunk! It also can give you a bad taste in your mouth and your urine can smell yuck-o too.

HTH!
