I feel your frustration. I hate buying something only to find out later it is ruined....what a waste!
But I wouldn't be too quick to blame CF. Freezer burn is caused by the food thawing out a little bit and being re-frozen, so it is usually the fault of the store. There are numerous chances for the food to get a tiny bit warmer than it should during unloading, stocking, and by people leaving the doors on the coolers open.
Also, if your freezer is overloaded and the cold air cannot correctly circulate around the food then freezer burn will occur. Ideally, there should be no food touching the sides or back of the freezer (yeah, right...who can do that? Not me, lol!) Opening the door often or leaving it open for more than a few seconds allows enough warm air in to cause it as well.
I don't think it is their fault. Did you buy all the packages at the same store? I would be talking to the manager of the store about it. Don't be suprised if they blame you. I hope they refund your money or something!
Edited to add: Doh! I just saw that you bought them at two different stores...sorry 'bout that. I use their frozen produce and have not had any problems lately but I haven't opened any peas in awhile either.
