I just ordered one from half.com and got it in the mail yesterday. I can't wait to try some of the recipes out. It's called "The Vegetarian Slow Cooker".

Would you mind looking at that link and tell me which one you got?

How does it look so far?

I have a $15 gift certificate for Amazon and am not sure which one I'll go with. (I fear shipping will make me have to pay a wee bit out of my pocket)

I got the small rectangular one "The Vegetarian Slow Cooker", but now that I see there are others I will probably have to get those too. I skimmed through the one I got and it does seem like there is some prep work involved - not just throw and go.

From the looks of the reviews I would probably go with the one that is $10.?? "The Healthy and Hearty..." It has better reviews and everyone who got it seems satisfied. I have a gift card too to Borders/Amazon so I think I may be doing a little shopping later too.

I've been wanting a veggie slow cooker books for years and I had given up until I saw the one I got on half, but like I said I think I would get the other one instead just by the reviews. And you should be able to get that one with shipping with your card and have no out of pocket expense.

Hope that helps!

Becky,

Thanks!!! I ordered the one with the high reviews. (the one you pointed out)

And my gift certificate covered shipping and all!

I love getting things in the mail, especially free ones!

Boy did I see a bunch of other cookbooks for vegetarians that looked good. I added a couple to my "wish list". One on sandwiches and another on kid friendly lunch ideas.

I LOVE cookbooks! Even if I don't get around to cooking that often anymore, I still love to look through them. I really like ones with pictures the best. You should join in the veggie recipe swap I started in the Veggie Place forum. It's going to be really easy to do and it closes on May 31st. Just a thought, I think it will be fun.

Is that here? (the Veggie Place forum)

If not, can you give me a URL? Please don't tell me I have to have a printer for this. *lol* I'd like to look at it and see if I could join.

Hugs,
MIchelle

The Veggie Place forum is in with the sewing, decluttering, crafty, etc forums here at Amity - scroll down the main page a bit and you should see it. But here's a direct link to the thread:

http://www.amitymama.com/vb/showthre...hreadid=166135

You don't need a printer, just some index or recipe cards. There are more details at the link. I was hoping to get a couple more people. It's just a swap to trade some of our favorite recipes...
