I always like to check here for info regarding chronic non-lifethreatening stuff.
I have chronic stomach aches. Sometimes, I will go for a month or so without one. Then, I will have one every day for a month or so. They last several hours and seem to only happen in the afternoon to late afternoon.
Is there any food that might be the culprit OR anyone have a remedy?
The kids need me... gotta run! TIA

I would keep a food diary to see what your triggers are, if any.
If you have gallbladder problems, you can get stomachaches/pains after fatty meals.
I would also log your bowel movements. LOL. Sorry, no pun intended. But I would do so if I were you, along with the food diary. I am wondering if you have constipation, diarrhea, or any even mild change in bowel habits when you have the stomachaches?

Chronic stomachaches are usually a sign of an intolerance. Dairy, gluten, soy and corn are the most common. I would keep a diary. It is hard though. Stess can make intolerances worse and may add to the problem. IBS and several other gastro ailments are often misdiagnosed and is really a gluten intolerance. The easiest way I found to keep a food diary was in a spreadsheet program.

there could be lots of reasons. But I'd definitely keep a food diary. Dairy can be a big culprit. Also my cousin just found out after 10 years of annoying stomach aches, she has a wheat intolerance.

Thank you for the replies. I will keep a food diary. In answer to Mamabear's questions, there is nothing to report. Everything is normal regarding bowel stuff. TMI--I hate to be that person.
I hope you found something out, but just wanted to share my experience. I developed a lactose intolerance VERY quickly, like overnight. It really was awful for me because I loved milk. Then it escalated into a dairy allergy (caused migraines). Any luck with your food diary? I also second the suggestion that if nothing else it could be IBS, but keep an open mind. My doc kept saying IBS and I kept disagreeing, turns out I might have endometriosis, not IBS!
Hi,
I was having very very bad pains in my belly for weeks and finally it was unbearable and i had to go to the dr. Well he checked me out and tested and had to prescribe me some Prevasid and my pains were gone after starting the pills. I only take them when i have the attacks. He said it is like indigestion where i get the acid in my belly and it was just killing me. At first he was afraid it was my gall bladder until he found out what it really was. I know alot of people are into more natural remedies but when i'm in ALOT of pain I go to the dr. It was just soooooo unbearable. I hope you figure out whats wrong.
