My old and cheap blender just bit the dust making hummus and I'm trying to figure out what to replace it with. I have a professional kitchen aid stand mixer with all the attachments as well as a professional food processor that I NEVER use. My parents owned a restaurant and went out of business and I ended up with these 2 things. With the blender having died, I'm trying to decide if I should just get a good blender, or some type of blender/small food processor and get rid of the big one.
I'm willing to spend money on something quality as long as it will last. I usually make things like hummus, cream soups, and smoothies. I guess when I look at it I probably just need a blender because the mixer att. shred and slice everything I need. What would I make in a food processor that I couldn't make with what I've got?
I'm thinking about the Vita-mix or maybe a Kitchen aid. Whatever it is, it can not be made in China...dh is a nut about this

. Any suggestions?
Thanks,
