heather...cool! just email us. i think xt will be back from camping sometime on friday & i *think* ciara will be headed to xt's house friday afternoon (haven't talked with xt about this yet) because i will be down in atlanta at the baccalaureate.
if all goes as planned, y'all can meet my mom & i somewhere friday evening...sound ok?
not sure who is sleeping where friday night. both xt and i have room for both you and ciara. doesn't matter to me who sleeps where...but we are leaving here at 7 AM on saturday bc i need to pick up my mom/her friend and we need to reserve seats enough, plus i have to line up ahead of time.
i think xt is leaving slightly later than those staying in this house
what time is the ceremony on sat? Assuming that we will go eat somewhere lovely Sat afterward? What are the plans for Friday night? Mark is going to take off on Friday, but part of the deal was that we have a lunch date So I will probably leave here around 1, which is 2 your time. Putting me in town at the ridiculous 5pm. In other words I have NO idea what time. If you guys are eating in Atl it may end up being better to meet you there. I may try to rearrange things and leave here earlier, but I am unsure at this point.
we'll be meeting later in the evening in alpharetta. i will be in atlanta for bac from 4-6 which translates to leaving my house at 2-2:30p and sitting in traffic forever to get to alpharetta maybe by 7:30 or 8p.
not sure yet where we are meeting friday night, for sure. will work on that.
saturday morning...must be on the campus prior to 9a. prior being the key word seating is limited & my fam can hold seats for a limited time starting at 8.
after commencement, my mom wants to go to lunch so i am telling friends you can join us if you'd like (meaning i'd LOVE it if you did but won't hold it against you if not ) it'll be in downtown-ish atlanta (actually inman park/va highlands.) here: Across the Street ~ Atlanta Fresh Mexican Food
it's really affordable for everyone's budgets and has good eats for meat and veggie eaters alike.
commencement ends around noonish and there is a reception on the quad where i'm sure i'll need to make an appearance briefly, turn in my cap/gown/hood and then we can head.
i'll pass out maps and such to the drivers friday night.
everyone seems to be headed home saturday afternoon for mother's day on sunday, which is fine my mom is even leaving. i'll do something saturday night with charles and our kids.

ooh - we're going to Across the Street? cool. I know what I'm ordering.

yeah. i considered a few other places down there and more up here-ish but i don't get down there very often & it's cool.
it also caters to the meat-a-tarians in my family (pretty much the rest of the crowd related to me by birth or law) while not assuming i am a rabbit.
it's also rather affordable, considering some other options. i don't want folks to feel obligated to go and then go broke on lunch. actually...i don't want folks to feel obligated to go i want folks to want to join in and go because they want to
after all, this is likely to be the ONLY time in my lifetime you guys will get to see me cry. i don't do it in public or around people, otherwise.
THAT's gotta be worth getting up early, right? it is a guaranteed event. i will cry. i was crying at practice last week, for goodness sake.
ah well i was going to suggest here for friday night because they have AMAZING mojito pitchers and really super good food that is pretty vegan friendly, but 2 days of mexican might be too much Eclipse Di Luna Park Place
I am excited and game for anything I would rather not drive because I am not very familiar with the city, but I am open to someone else driving my van. If it would be easier I could even meet you guys at the metro or something-- just whatever, I am easy
Oh and just for you will I get up early and not whine about it-- so long as there is coffee and lots of it LOL

oh, puleaze. 365 days of mexican food isn't too much. I'd go. Or... uhh.. there's always Tara Humata, too...
I can grab you at Marta if you don't want to drive up. My car is behaving like a doll now that it has the spark plug wire, so I'm happy to cart peeps around.
I don't really have an opinion on Friday night so long as it's vegan friendly, really. That was my big concern with the Cheesecake Factory, as amusing as the Bear option was in theory.
As for spark plug wires, yeah. I get pretty cranky myself when mine go bad. Important things, spark plug wires.
That said, my van is rather peppy with her new alternator & battery these days
