ok, I registered

and I wasn't the only grownup there. Still, there were a lot more whippersnappers than old mommies. I was the only one bat**** crazy enough to bring 3 kids with her.

Couldn't do any of the math classes I need (they don't offer much in the way of whackjob math major stuff in the summer), but what I have on my slate will be 2/3 of my B.A. minor classes.

The math advisor was very nice and kept correcting his version of my plan with the info I had put together for him. I think Fall Semester will be the death of me - Differential Equations, Proofs class (ok, that one will be goofy), Real Analysis (probably), Discrete Math (did that once already, but I have to do it at a 3000 level - it was a 2000 level class at GSU), and Intermediate Accounting. Gah!

Not sure I'll get it all in by the end of Spring. Might be Summer 2010 before I can get out of there. Thppppt.

"Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said until him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments have all the law and the prophets."

I'm not a student but I took some of those classes when I was . . of course this was before some . . hrm, stuff happened and I got to find out I couldn't be a physics/math major. Not that you'd need help, but if you do I *might* remember that stuff. I do have my books still.

And, GOOD ON YOU MAMA.

Good on you. You are so brave.

I am trying so hard to think of something nice to say since I really hate math.

Ahem... here goes

I am so glad there are really smart, math minded people like you in the world Christy because I really do think math holds the secrets to the universe... which is why I think I have to search so hard... lol

Good for you!!

I get to spend the summer reviewing math so those classes don't kill me in the fall!

My summer is: Financial Accounting, Managerial Accounting, Principles of Marketing, and Microeconomics.

Since it's a light schedule of 12 hours, I can continue the very boring Calculus I-IV review at home. Whee.

Ah this is right up my alley. Sounds like a fun summer, I really enjoyed all those classes. Really in retrospect, I don't know why I didn't just get an accounting degree...

in the end, that's the goal here. I'm changing my minor to B.A. so I can meet the pre-reqs and apply to grad school to get an MBA in Accounting. I expect I'll like it well enough - it's not my dream job, but it's a good choice (much flexibility) for the next phase of my life. Math isn't my dream job either, so I don't mind taking it a different direction after this here math B.S. is complete.

Have you ever looked into forensic accounting? It is something I have seriously considered. I am terrible at/dislike math in the calculus/physics sense but I do very well with number crunching when it comes to accounting/finance since I actually understand those.

Anyhow, forensic accounting, check it out.

Forensic accounting sounds way cool. Imagine showing up at your kids career day at school and your child gets to introduce you and all his friends say, "oooooohhhhh!" because they all watch TV and know what forensics are (and not a clue on the accounting, so they just ignore that part).

hee-hee

Congratulations!!
