M Ed in mathematics education I'll have a secondary math credential when I'm done. Or, I'll go on and get my Ph'd. Won't know which till I get there.

I think they will, too, but you know, Calculus I for me was the fall of 1986. Heh. I have some serious reviewing to do before mid-June. I was looking at (3)^-3 the other day and *guessing* that it meant 1/27. Lucky guess or was that still stored somewhere in my 40-yr-old cranium?

I'm using ALEKS to review right now. In May I need to actually start working the Calculus I problems. Luckily the syllabus and assignment sheet for that class is online, so if I can make the time, I can do the exact assignments that the other students in my Calc II class will have done, presumably, the semester before.

whoa. i read that and it read something like: I was looking at blah blah blah and guessing it meant blah blah blah.

i'm so much better in the humanities where i can argue my point, in theory. it's all in theory. and if i spend enough time in the stacks or searching the databases, i can always find SOMEONE to back my point up.

Signed for my student loans today. Then took an Ativan. I hate this part--the debt part.

Congrats! Very exciting. (Are you at PSU?) The last time I took math was in 1990, so I feel for you--I'll be prepping for the GRE soon and am very nervous about the math portion.

Good luck!

I know you can do it, Alaska. I found my old Calc text on Amazon and started studying from that. I have a few doozy classes in the next year to finish the B.S. in math. We'll have some good war stories trying to take these classes this many years later.
