User Guidelines
These guidelines are designed to bring this community back to it's primary focus. The following guidelines are designed to allow the moderators and Amity to become a more cohesive team, and give Amity a break to tend to matters not site related.
AW is a non-violent, supportive, peaceful living community that is about living in harmony with our children, ourselves, others and our world. It is about personal growth and aiding in one another's growth, through learning and teaching. Differences of opinion are welcome given they are communicated in a nonviolent, peaceful and respectful way. Posts validating spanking as a viable parenting tool are not allowed as this violates our belief in nonviolence.
Each arising situation will be evaluated on it's own merits, with the moderators acting in the best interest of the community as we understand the vision of the owner.
This could include locking, moving to the compost heap, self edit requests, (in extreme cases) banning for repeated offenses or any combination of the above. We suggest you read and re-read your words before you post them. Any personal issues with other members are to remain private between the members, with the exception of negative feedback in the feedback forum only. If you question the appropriateness of a thread, pleace ask a moderator for feedback. Likewise, any moderation or site comments/complaints will be limited to the new Moderation Discussion forum only.
We ask that you:
(a) Be Respectful: Agree to disagree respectfully.
The real objective of community is to understand one another and share viewpoints, not to attack others and attempt to convince them that you're right. This also includes respect of other's privacy with regard to PMs, site-based email and posts on these forums.
b) If you have personal issues with a community member here, please contact them privately or request mediation from a moderator. If you have personal issues with a member elsewhere - please contact them directly and do not involve this community in your dispute.
c) Limit all moderation questions/comments/complaints to the Moderation Discussion forum, and all negative feedback to the Transaction Feedback forum only. Your suggestions are welcome, however this is a large, diverse community and not all ideas will be implemented. We appreciate your contributions and will carefully consider them.
All members (including moderators) are human and we expect everyone to be treated with as much respect and patience as you expect to be treated yourself. We trust that the community will pull together and allow for each member to enjoy, explore and grow from our time here at AmityMama.
