Seriously, how often are we all chomping at the bit to see what the mail delivery person brings us? All the time. And, think how really fast it actually gets here and how much goes on from point A to our home?

I love our PO woman. She rocks.

"Master, which is the greatest commandment in the law?
Jesus said until him, Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thy heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy mind.
This is the first and great commandment.
And, the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.
On these two commandments have all the law and the prophets."

Totally not understanding why anyone would look down on priests or postal workers. Seems like an odd perception...

Are apple-flavored dumdum lollipops considered like caramel apples?

1. Caramel apples were held in high regard, but lately they have fallen in favor due to suspicions of high fructose corn syrup and pressure-treated wood sticks.

2. Really, are the dumdums that much better that we should elevate their status above traditional caramel apples? Artificial coloring, artificial flavoring=bad, but the retro printing on the wrapper=awesome.

It's a tough call. But I don't eat apple-flavored dumdums or caramel apples (since I despise caramel) so I am not really a good one to answer this question.

I my mail man, too, but don't tell hubby. He already thinks I have a crush on him. I seriously couldn't tell you one bad apple in our entire office, from what I know of them. I know there are some bad apples, but I've not met one, yet. I cannot say enough good things about my job and the people that I work with. I feel very privileged to have the job that I have and I have never thought that it was a negative position. Obviously some people do and I can only imagine that they must have had bad experiences with a postal person(s) at one time or another.

I have NEVER had one single complaint ever from any of my consumer interactions with postal employees. EVER.

that said, um, well, I once, a heck of a long time ago, had to do an evaluation on a former postal employee who, well, went postal.

And, TARA, what the heck are you talking about with NOT LIKING CARAMEL?!?! better than chocolate. Just take some butter, some cream, and some sugar and heat them. What could be better than that?!? Heaven, I tell ya. Heaven.

Such an interesting thread!
I, too, had no idea postal workers were looked down up. Why is that?
We live in an old downtown area and have mailboxes on the house. Our postal workers walk door to door to deliver. Mailman Mike (ours) is one of the most important people in our day! He comes shortly after the kids get home. He always stops and visits with us, talks to the kids, etc. When my mom died a few weeks ago (he delivered her mail as well), he made a special trip to my house on a Sunday to check on us and tell us how much he cared for my mom. He's a treasure!

As far as Anglican priests... not sure on that one either. I'm married to an Episcopal priest and am not aware of any criticism of them as a group. Some individuals get (and deserve) criticism. But I've not heard of anything for the whole group - on either side of the pond.

So - trying to learn here!

In addition to caramel, I also don't like coconut, any form of cooked or dried fruit (so...no fruit pies/tarts, raisins, prunes, dried apricots, jams and preserves, etc., and I also cannot stand fruit in my Thanksgiving stuffing), butterscotch, maraschino cherries, toffee, nougat, plums, cherries...

I'm an odd one, I guess. But there are lots of things I love!

Postal workers are awesome. At least, the ones I have had have been, anyway.

So are apples dipped in caramel (made by boiling a can of condensed milk..in the can.) I just had that last night. I still have some more in the fridge...........................Okay, back...sudden detour into the kitchen past the fridge was suddenly necessary.

And apples in stuffing is DELICIOUS. You can keep the revolting raisins, though. I bet cranberry would be good, though.

And I know nothing about Anglicans or otherwise. So no help there. I do think there is a bit of backlash going on, though, thanks to the new thing with the Catholic church, though.

And, I would like a lesson in cooking sweetened condensed milk in the can.

Is it dangerous?
