Have you read The Message?

Wow. That's all I can say for now.

Not really sure what I think of it. Some of it does seem so clear, but other parts I've read seem so far off base for me.

What do you think?

Oh, the Bible! I thought you were meaning a book. I have never read it. Hmm, now you have me interested, but I am reading the New Living Translation right now. I just started and I am not sure I am ready to change yet.

Sorry, yeah I meant this version of The Bible. It's really interesting because it's translated into such simple language. Right now, it's exacly what I need. I don't always agree with the translation but it really is challenging my thought process.

I've read The Bible, but this version is helping me understand so much more. The pastor of our church recommended it and I'm really getting a lot out of it.

I think it can be great as another tool, but I wouldn't want to read it as my only Bible version. It is a paraphrase, not a translation. I think the New Living Translation is a good compromise--it is easy to understand, but it's still a translation. I tend to read many versions when I'm studying a passage (NLT, NIV, NASB, ESV...), but read the NLT for daily reading.

I began the NLT last year as well. With NIV and KJV as others to compare.
