What would you do if you didn't feel welcome at your temple/chuch anymore?

This question is not for one particular religious tradition, just a general question.

The management of our temple changed and for some reason (that I cannot figure out) the main manager can't stand me. Like every time something goes wrong he calls me on the phone, everytime I go he and some of the members who live there sned bad vibes.
I don't feel comfortable there anymore, and unfortunately the closest temple apart from this one is 6 hours away

I have no doubts about my beleifs or anything, but just don't feel that going there is helping me at all now. What would you do?

Ys,
Radhanuga

We had some issues at our last church. I had been uncomfortable for a while with the philosophy and some of the things being taught. But then we started getting bad vibes because we wouldn't put the baby (zoey) in the church nursery and if we did use the nursery one of us was in there with her. Anyway, things started feeling wrong to all of us and honestly, we simply walked away and didn't go back. I fielded a few phone calls and just was as honest as I could be without being hurtful saying "we feel led to worship elsewhere right now and we wish the church only the best".

We found a new church that is actually much closer to home, much more in line with our beliefs and has an awesome childrens/youth/teen ministry for our kids. I'm singing there now with the music ministry - life opened up for me when we changed.

I'm sad that the closest temple to you is so far away tho. Is there anyway you can begin a small worship group in someones home until you can come up with something else?

Hugs to you - it is no fun when politics change a spiritual place. Btdt.

We bailed. However, we were moving out of the area a few months later so leaving was inevitable and I just didn't have the energy to deal with the drama since we were leaving anyway. I just went to church with April (sontanned) for the last few months. It was awesome. It was a great church and Chanel got to spend time with her bestest buddy and dh and I could breath easy minus the drama that was at our old church.
Not sure what we would have done if we weren't moving. Probably still bailed. Our "pastor" backstabbed us. He took things out of my husband's history that were privedged info and used it to gossip about us and tell people not to fellowship with us. Also, my husband had been into the goth scene while he was out of church and this "pastor" told people he was "demon possessed". Sorry but that kind of spiritual nurturing we can really do without.
Gosh though, 6 hours away? That's a lot. It probably is worth opening up some communication about it because switching temples really isn't an option, yk?

I am currently experiencing some problems with some of the people in charge right now at our church. In the past Ive gone inactive from our church because of certain situations, but it didnt do ME or my family any good. It didnt have any effect on the people causing the problem either. The only way that I am able to continue to go is by being vocal and trying to be a part of making changes for the better and not letting those who seem to be causing problems affect me (or the rest of the church members) negatively. Just my opinion, but I have found that if you believe something to be true, most times its going to be hard and there is going to be a challenge or two.
Though you and I have different beliefs Im sure that the point Im trying to make still applies...if its worth it to you, you can work through it and probably make some positive changes along the way.
